United Completes B747 International Fleet Upgrade

United Airlines has successfully completed the conversion of all 24 Boeing 747-400 aircrafts, featuring fully lie-flat beds in United First and United Business. The International Premium Travel Experience (IPTE) provides consistent space and flight comfort on the Boeing 747-400, as well as on all 21 aircraft from the Boeing 767-300 series. United Airlines now begins with the conversion of the entire Boeing 777 fleet, which includes a total of 46 jets.

The IPTE B747s have 12 United First suites, 52 United Business lie-flat seats, 70 United Economy Plus seats with 5 inches more legroom and 240 United Economy seats. All 24 planes in the active B747 fleet have been repainted - 23 feature the new United livery and one is in the new Star Alliance design.

United Airlines operates approximately 3300 flights a day on United and United Express to more than 200 U.S. domestic and international destinations from its hubs in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, Chicago and Washington, D.C. United also is a founding member of Star Alliance, which provides connections for our customers to more than 1000 destinations in 175 countries worldwide. United offers eight daily nonstop flights from Germany to the United States during winter, six from Frankfurt, and two from Munich (daily to Chicago and Washington). Destinations from Frankfurt are Washington DC (3x daily), Chicago (2x), San Francisco (1x). Daily Washington, D.C. - Zurich and Geneva-Washington, D.C. services are additional nonstop flights.
